potty talk

John started potty training James this weekend. We got a book called "Toilet Training in One Day." Yeah, whatever. More like "Letting Your Kid Pee on the Floor Over and Over and Over." It was pretty much a disaster. Three days later, he makes it to the potty every once in a while but we have ignored the book's advice to keep him in underware all the time so there are fewer messes to clean up... or at least smaller messes. Now if we could just get James to point his "thingy" in the right direction...

I can relate. I know that book...I personally, don't think it works for all the talk I've heard about it. Adam's in pull ups. If he keeps his pull-up dry and pees in the potty he gets M&M...I call it kid language. Now when he recognizes that he needs to go potty, he asks for M&M's. Seeing as my off days seem to have hit again, he's not getting very many M&M's, but I didn't want to do it in the first place, so...I understand the smaller messes to clean up...we call his pull=ups underware, but I think he knows they aren't much different from his diapers. SIGH!! At least they only have to go through this once. :) Hang in there!!

Let me know how to get the aiming thing down. I will need that info in the future with Miles. :)

I tell Adam to make noise in the potty...his aim is much lower since I have to hear it...he thinks it's cool to hear it too...boys...my mil(mother in law) told me to use fruit loops and let them aim...I don't let them stand until they are tall enough to hit the water..otherwise...well...I won't go into details...but there are 2 ideas.
